The Hawaiian islands are home to some of the best food, the most wicked waves, and an all-around great time. Sip some of the wondrous and legendary Kona coffee beans every morning with this single-origin medium roast.
You'll find citrusy sweetness in this Kona coffee with rich flavor, and an almost excitingly mild acidity and finish. This profile lends itself well to cold brew, albeit at a premium compared to other compatible coffees.
Coffee first came to Hawai'i in 1825 after Chief Boki and King Kamehameha returned from a royal visit to London. On the way home, they stopped in Brazil and acquired coffee seedlings. First planted in Manoa Valley on the island of Oahu, it quickly spread and gained its world notoriety in 1873 at the Worlds Fair in Vienna.
Hawai'i accounts for just 0.1% of the world's coffee economy. Because of the volcanic soil, the higher volume of rain, and cooler temperatures compared to elsewhere, this somewhat rare and unique bean brings with it a unique flavor profile that you won't find anywhere else.
